Electronic security for homes is fast catching up in India. With either the elderly or kids alone at home while you are away at work, it is essential for you to have proper surveillance system in place at home. A variety of security systems are available right from simple intrusion detector panels to intelligent remote monitoring systems. These include intruder alarm systems, auto dialers, doorphones, electronic looks, remote panic alarms and video surveillance systems.
Security systems can also be integrated with home automation features. Various residential builders are already offering home automation and security together as an add-on feature for their clients. If you are planning to install, you can choose between wired and wireless security systems. Both types can be further divided into user friendly and high end programmable systems. Here’s the way to go for an ideal security system for your home.
In home security systems there is Cameras, Electronic locks, panic switches and PIR lights other than intrusion alarm systems. Let we see them in detail.
1. Cameras: A wide variety of cameras are available for home security. Your home can have a single camera at the front door or many cameras placed throughout the house. The multiple cameras can be attached to motion detectors and activated only when there is movement in a certain area. These can also be attached to VCRs or computers for additional monitoring and recording. If attached to a computer, you can check a status of the home from anywhere over the internet connection.
If the camera will be used outdoors it should have a casing that is durable enough to withstand the weather. If you fear vandalism an extra durable casing is needed. A CCTV will let you view the entrance and other strategic areas around your home.
2. Electronic/electromagnetic locks: Window and door lock system can be added onto your home’s existing locks, creating a double lock at each point of entry.
3. Panic switches: There are nothing but simple buttons with hooters attached to create an alarming sound of high pitch.
4. PIR lights: These lights activate automatically when there is an activity in the area of focus.
Home security systems can be centered around an alarm, a system of intercoms, locking systems or video cameras. Determine the needs of your home depending on the surrounding environment.
Intrusion alarm system. Alarms can be either silent or very loud. A loud alarm will either frighten the intruder away or alert the neighbours that someone is trying to invade your house. Alarms fitted into the door sound right at the point of entry. Others can be connected to a central control pad, which sounds if any point of entry is breached.
Generally an intrusion alarm systems has different sensors, magnetic contacts, hooters etc,.. linked to a control panel. An auto dialer with prerecorded message can also be integrated, which will automatically dial the fed numbers and leave emergency message. With this feature, if someone intrudes your home the security systems will call the police directly to inform them.
While selecting a warning alarm system, ensure that,
1. It doesn’t produce false alarm.
2. It has enough battery backup to meet unpredictable power conditions.
3. It is user friendly with minimal and easy controls.
4. If sensors like PIR are used, it must be EMI/RFI protected.
5. Magnetic sensors are easy to align.
6. The sound output is above 105dB at 1 metre.

Site cloaking allows you to exclude folders and file types in a site from operations such as Get or Put . You can cloak individual folders , but not individual files. To cloak files , you must select a file type , and Dreamweaver cloaks all files of that type . It remember your settings for each site, so you don’t have to make selections each time you work on that site .
For example , if you’re working on a large site and don’t want to upload your multimedia files each day, you can use site cloaking to cloak your multimedia folder, and the system excludes files in that folder from site operations your perform .
You can cloak folder and file types on the remote or local site . Cloaking excludes cloaked folders and
files from the following operations :
* Put, Get , Check In and Check Out
* Reports
* Select newer local and newer remote
* Sitewide operation , such as check and change links and search /replace .
* Synchronize
* Asset panel contents
* Template and Library updating
Dreamweaver excludes cloaking templates and library items from Get and Put operations only . It does not exclude these items from batch operations , because it might cause them to get out of sync with their instances . You can perform an operation on a specific cloaked folder by selecting the item in the ’site’ panel and performing an operation on it . Performing an operation on it . Performing an operation directly on a file or folder overrides cloaking .

Motherboards Drivers
More than being just functional patches, driver updates for motherboards can immensely boost system performance – especially if the updated drivers contain fixes for major issues. Regardless of which chipset your motherboard is based on , there are a few thumb rules for optimizing driver-related setting for peak performance .
First before installing a fresh set of drivers, make sure to uninstall the existing set . Do this from Control panel > Add or Remove Programs . Select the drivers that you wish to remove and click the ‘Remove button’ . This way you can ensure that only new files are installed , and that there is no trace of older drivers .
When installing updated drivers , pay close attention to the options offered during installation . The decision you make , in each installation step, will affect the way your computer runs . For example , when installing the Via Hyperion drivers, you are asked to make decision on the working of the AGP ,and should always select the ‘High Performance ‘ Option .
Air Flow :
The most important cooling principle is proper airflow . A traditional ATX cabinets has two fans , one to suck air, and other to expel hot air . To maximize airflow within the cabinet , carefully twist, tie or tape up all loose cables, and places them away from critical components , such as the CPU, hard disk and RAM .
Heatsinks
The CPU is the most utilised and most important components in the system . To extract the best performance , you should have a high quality heatsink and fan combination . Consider buying Thermaltake, Ever cool, Akasa and other such well-known heatsink and fan combinations . They do cost on the higher side, but they boost your system’s performance as well increase its life .
