According to the latest news a new bug in Adobe’s Flash Player provide some attackers with a back door into computers of victims.
It should be mentioned that the bug affected Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2. Initially it was found on all operating systems, such as Macintosh, Windows, as well as Linux. According to reports, the vulnerability is used against Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash Player as well as Acrobat.
Due to the flaw, the software of Adobe can crash but at the same time it is able to provide control for attackers over the computer
Actually, the attacks are not so widespread. According to Adobe, two reports of online attacks were received. The first one was noticed at 10:30 a.m. Pacific on Friday.
It was agreed by Trend Micro Researcher Paul Ferguson that the attack is considered to be new. Moreover, it is not widely used.
It turned out that Versions 8 of Acrobat as well as Adobe Reader are not vulnerable to the attack. One should say that free Reader software of Adobe has become a hacker target for the last years. It was estimated that malicious PDF files amounted to about 50 percent of all Web-based attacks.
