Samsung has announced ST5000 and ST5500 model digital cameras. They are both ultra-slim cameras that measure in very thin and offer ‘da Vinci-inspired design’ in the lens technology. The whole camera is angled at 7-degrees for a unique design.
The ST5500 and ST5000 are basically identical devices with the ST5500 having more connectivity and a slightly bigger screen. Both cameras have WiFi which you can use to upload videos and pictures without using a computer.
The ST5500 cam has 3.7-inch and ST5000 model has 3.5 inch OLED touchscreen . By combining the gorgeous OLED screen and the oversized lens on the front, Samsung is hoping to “create a chic package that will define the future of the compact camera market”.
As for that ‘da Vinci-inspired’ lens, when the camera is on and the lens barrel is extending, the image’s specifications – notably focal length and aperture – will appear in lens ring instantly, via a reflective surface.
They are very slim, measuring just 0.77 inches thick. They have a 14.2-megapixel photo sensor in both cameras, which is impressive for a point-and-shoot of this size. The cameras both offer a 7x optical zoom and lens from Schneider-Kreuznach.
You can immediately upload to Facebook your recent night out or to YouTube various fail videos that your friends did. Bluetooth transfers would be used for wireless photo transfers to your computer when you’re too lazy to get the data cable. The GPS function is for geo-tagging and various applications with map support.
